We produce, characterize and distribute our products. Our product portfolio ranges from homopolymers, copolymers, initiators, catalysts, catalyst coated membranes/substrates and many more.

Founding Nano Cats

Nano Cats was founded in April 2022 with managing partners Dr. Denis Bernsmeier and Dr. Michael Bernicke. The entry in the commercial register took place in June 2022. The purpose of the company is the coating of components for electrolysis and the production and distribution of polymers for the chemical industry and academic research.

Chlorine, vital in the chemical industry, is predominantly produced via the energy-intensive chlor-alkali process. Nanostructured electrodes, offered by Nano Cats, can considerably enhance process efficiency, leading to substantial energy savings.
The "Next-Generation-Electrolysis" project aimed to reduce cell voltage requirements by 30 to 50 mV, potentially saving approximately 200 million EUR annually and cutting CO2 emissions by around 800,000 tons.

The German government has set itself the goal of making excellent research more quickly and effectively usable for the economy and society. The funding measure "Validation of the technological and societal innovation potential of scientific research - VIP+" supports researchers in validating research results and developing application areas.
The Next-Gen-Chlor project validated a technology for nanostructured electrode coatings and proved the advanced activty of these coatings in the chlorine evolution reaction under industry-identical conditions.
